Farming’s got talent! Vocational education and training for agriculture in transition

Virtual Live

The European Commission is organising an online event “Farming’s got talent! Vocational education and training for agriculture in transition” on November 24.

Vocational education and training (VET) are keys to developing the skills and competences that EU farmers need to succeed in a world shaped by rapid technological changes, digitalisation and global sustainability challenges.

By exchanging inspiring practices and experiences among teachers, students, training providers and other EU and national actors the event want to highlight the role of vocational education and training (VET) to enable an attractive farming sector ready for the twin green & digital transition and identify priorities and successful approaches for the development of the right skill set.

The event has three main objectives:

1. Identify the changes in skills needed in the EU farming sector to address the challenges brought forward by the twin green and digital transition.

2. Share successful experiences of vocational education and training (VET) for sustainable, digital-ready and resilient farming in the EU, and identify challenges and possible ways forward.

3. Explore available tools to support high-quality VET programmes and promote collaboration and synergies to deliver them.

This event will be streamed online. The link for the live stream will be available closer to the date.
