MAI4CAREU - Machine Learning for Graphics and Computer Vision - Advanced Topics in Graphics and Vision

The University of Cyprus's Master programme in Artificial Intelligence 4 Careers in Europe (MAI4CAREU) features MAI645 - Machine Learning for Graphics and Computer Vision, with lectures provided by the CYENS Centre of Excellence.
Learning outcomes
This lecture covers advanced topics in graphics and vision. It begins with neural style transfer, applying the artistic style of one image to the content of another. Students will then explore texture synthesis methods for creating high-quality textures for 3D models. The module introduces neural rendering techniques for producing realistic images and discusses advancements in rendering technology. Image and video super-resolution techniques, which enhance the resolution and quality of visual content, are also covered.
The session continues with creative machine learning applications, starting with generative networks used to create faces, landscapes, and sketches. Students will learn about image denoising techniques for improving image quality by removing noise and artifacts. The module concludes with a discussion on adversarial training, including its applications, challenges, and open research problems in the field.
The course also covers:
- Neural Style Transfer
- Texture Synthesis for 3D Models
- Neural Rendering Techniques
- Image and Video Super-Resolution
- Generative Networks for Artistic Creation
- Image Denoising Techniques
- Adversarial Training and Open Research Problems
The course includes practical examples and hands-on projects to apply these advanced techniques.
