Developed by PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, Managing Big Data with R and Hadoop offers an opportunity for learners with an interest (and some knowledge of) data and computer science.

Targeting users with understanding of computational statistics and machine learning concepts, the course is useful also for undergraduate students across technology subjects. By taking this course, participants will get hands-on experience with Hadoop, R, and Rstudio in a virtual environment, and explore their basic functionalities. Other topics, including clustering, regression and classification of data are also covered. Students also explore examples from statistical learning and learn how to use R code to streamline testing and learning operations. At the end of the course, learners get access to a supercomputer by the University of Ljubljana, to test their skills and gained knowledge.
