Digitalization stands as a powerful catalyst for innovation, economic efficiency, and heightened productivity. Yet, in its transformative wave, it brings forth challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector. Acknowledging this dual nature of digitalization, the European co-funded project Tourbit (“Fostering digitalisation of European tourism SMEs”) embarks on a mission to empower tourism SMEs across Europe.

The core objective of Tourbit is twofold: to enhance the digital skills and capacities of SMEs and to foster a culture of innovation. By equipping businesses with the necessary expertise, TOURBIT aims to bolster the resilience of these enterprises, making them more competitive in the ever-evolving digital landscape. This initiative not only promotes the uptake of digitalization and innovation but also paves the way for a faster and more sustainable transformation of the European tourism sector.

Launched in January 2022, Tourbit's comprehensive efforts will continue to unfold until June 2024, ensuring a lasting impact on the digital future of tourism businesses in Europe.
