Unionen, Sweden
Unionen is the largest trade union in Sweden, representing salaried employees in the private sector. The union accepts members from all roles, regardless of educational level or salary, including professionals, self-employed individuals, and students. Unionen is a comprehensive trade union, where all salaried employees in the private sector can join. Among its members, there are many managers and a large proportion have higher education degrees from colleges or universities.
Unionen's members are present in everything from large international companies to small family-owned businesses, organizations, and associations. Unionen is a member-driven organisation, based on representative democracy. The union has over 690,000 members across approximately 88,000 workplaces. Among these, there are 27,000 elected representatives active in about 15,000 workplaces.
