Adult Education Institution Dante

The Adult Education Institution Dante is a modern institution that has been carrying out adult education programmes in Rijeka, Croatia since 1991. Being awarded a very high-quality rating in 2023 by the national Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education, Dante’s work is an example of excellence in adult learning and education in Croatia. Dante attracts numerous generations of adult learners by offering quality educational formal and non-formal programmes and courses (focusing on foreign language learning, vocational programmes, intercultural communication, basic skills, teaching methods and approaches, transferable skills, and entrepreneurship) that respond to the needs of modern society and contribute to the development of adult education at the local, regional, and European level.
The Institution closely cooperates with state institutions – the Ministry of Science and Education, the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education, and the Croatian Agency for Mobility and European Projects. In addition to national cooperation, Dante has considerable experience in international cooperation and partnerships, having participated in the Lifelong Learning Programme, Erasmus+ (KA1, KA2, KA3, Forward-looking Projects, Alliances for Innovation), CERV, and the European Social Fund. It has also been awarded the 2020 Erasmus accreditation in the field of adult education for the period 2021-2027.
Dante is a European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) member and has hosted and organized numerous international meetings, training events, and conferences related to adult education. A range of training courses are offered in Dante’s international training catalogue for teachers, staff and learners, including job shadowing and in-service training opportunities. Development And Networking for a Training Evolution is a network founded by Dante, whose aim is to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders in the education system at the national and international levels, and consequently, improve and establish quality systems within the entire education sector. The Institution's extensive experience in European projects and general contribution to the improvement of the educational offer and life in the local community are relevant to the application.
Dante has carried out a series of European projects (Lifelong Learning Programme, Erasmus+ Programme, CERV Programme, and European Social Fund) and participated in professional trainings all around the EU. Dante has also hosted international meetings, organised professional trainings and conferences, and coordinated educational partnerships. 
Dante's EU project team members have extensive experience in adult education methodology, foreign language learning and teaching, developing basic and key competences (digital, transferable, entrepreneurial, intercultural, financial), working with different groups of adults (NEETs, seniors, migrants and asylum seekers, SEND learners), developing interactive online teaching materials, using alternative approaches to teaching, developing, implementing, and evaluating new curricula and education programmes, organising professional training events and training education professionals, project management and implementation, quality assurance and promotion, dissemination and networking.
