In our school, there are 55 students aged 12-15, the majority of whom are of Greek descent. Their parents mainly work in agriculture or as employees in services and stores. Additionally, we host several students of Albanian descent, whose parents live and work in Amfikleia. The integration of these students varies. Some have lived in Amfikleia for years or were born and raised in the village, with an excellent command of the Greek language and full social acceptance from their classmates. However, there are also students who appear suddenly and start attending school with little or no knowledge of the Greek language.
In these cases, our school makes every possible effort to provide the best possible support, even though we do not have a reception class. We implement improvised integration methods, with personal interventions from the teachers, such as finding companions, communicating in English when feasible, and providing materials for learning Greek as a foreign language. Furthermore, we try to offer remedial teaching for students with gaps in subjects or difficulties in understanding, as well as for those who do not speak Greek well.
Moreover, our school aims to implement various extracurricular programs. In recent years, we have conducted cultural, environmental, health education, and career programs.
