Mapping The Sustainability

During the project period, our goal is to use new GIS and to make students think of the Environment and sustainable future. We focus on the development and evaluation of the spatial and critical thinking, gathering data, assessing the quality of that data, evaluating methods, analyzing the data and the results from each of the methods used, making decisions and recommendations, and taking action. We teach asking questions because this leads to problem solving in any levels. Collaborating and working in a small group using technologies is an easier way of learning and reach high results. That is the motivation to create a collection of GIS PB Lessons as a final, sustainable product: in 5 different European languages. We hope to make our students understand they should have a spatial thinking for the environment. Moreover, the school should not be an isolated, closed community. It should be the place where young people learn learn how to play an active role in EU.The project Mapping the sustainability allows us to have:

-tangible results: a guide and digital atlas in 5 different EU languages, new GIS and ICT skills, improving English level, a website, etc. - - Intangible results: helpful lessons in periods of distant education and ways of teaching/learning, changes in students‘ attitudes and many insights gained that will show afterwards.
