National Academy for Digital Skills powered by GRNET S.A.

The National Academy for Digital Skills (NADS) is a core initiative of the Ministry of Digital Governance in Greece, powered by GRNET S.A. (National Infrastructures for Research and Technology),  that responds to the emerging need of providing Greek citizens with high quality educational content on digital skills. NADS' ambition is to increase the digital literacy of the general population and foster the sectorial digital competences by means of : 

Design and implementation of national initiatives through educational activities which enhance digital literacy, digital citizenship, digital upskilling and reskilling while promoting inclusion

Development of Massive Open Online Courses ( MOOCs) aligned with the European Frameworks on Digital Competences

Hosted MOOCs  provided by acclaimed institutional and market actors

Participation in National, European and International Digital Transformation projects in order to provide consultation on methodologies for skills profiles,  as well as  to collaborate in producing educational content, in alignment with the European Frameworks, the National Strategy and the National Framework for Digital Competences.

NADS is the national single gateway for Digital Competences’ educational content; it is the network node for all public administration, private sector, academic and educational institutions acting as course providers, in addition to citizens and professionals seeking to learn and develop skills for the digital era.

NADS is an open and free service provider of a  broad, comprehensive, up- to- date curriculum on digital skills. It also delivers an extensive program of initiatives that focuses on digital awareness and upskilling within diversified and vulnerable societal groups (e.g. the elderly, women, parents, children, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring inclusion and participation throughout the digital transformation.

The long-term ambition of the National Academy for Digital Skills is to become the national portal for all digital skills' training providers -public and private- while scaling up the offered curriculum and users. A further aspiration includes personalized services, in the form of methodological and applied profiling for citizens and professionals through self-assessment tools, individual learning pathways and respective certification, in alignment with the European Frameworks of Digital Competences
