At The Digital Collective (Digico), we firmly believe that technology, when harnessed effectively, has the power to bridge the ever-widening digital divide in our society. It is with this vision that we introduce Skillify – a comprehensive platform designed to pave the way from digital assessment to gainful employment.

What does Skillify do?

Skillify empowers individuals by assessing their digital skills, unlocking new learning opportunities and accompanying them in a lifelong learning journey in the digital age.

Skillify is an assessment to help learners understand their level of digital skills. The assessment can be taken to test 1 single DigComp Area or all. Completing all five areas of the assessment will take around 25 minutes, and at the end users can register to save their results and see their progress in future. Through a personal dashboard, Skillify offers a visual overview of users’ strengths and areas of improvement, giving a live snapshot of their digital skills. 

Methodology

Skillify is built upon a solid foundation of three essential frameworks: 

• Digital Competence Development Methodology (DCDM) 
• European Digital Competence Framework, specifically DigComp Sat

• Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 

   

Adaptive, Inclusive, and Accessible

Skillify has been meticulously designed to make the user experience as intuitive and accessible as possible. To do so, 2 animated tutorials are available at the beginning and at the end of the test, to ensure that users fully understand how the platform works. 

The 82 self-assessment questions have been systematically revised, focusing on language simplification, to adapt the platform to users with lower levels of literacy. 

Skillify has also been through an accessibility review run together with an accessibility expert, in order for the platform to be as inclusive as possible. 

Skillify is available in 7 languages (English, French, German, Danish, Czech, Arabic and Ukrainian) making it accessible to a wider audience. Additional languages can be added upon request.

Moreover, Skillify language and design is inclusive and motivational, to ensure that low skilled users feel comfortable and encouraged to continue their learning.

Personalised Training Recommendations

Skillify offers personalised training recommendations based on users’ assessed skills.  Depending on their digital proficiency level, users are directed towards a curated selection of training resources aimed at enhancing their digital skills continuously. 

Job Suggestions

Merged with Skillify, partners will get an AI-integrated job recommendations system that matches users’ digital skills results with open local job opportunities. The engine scrapes local job portals, and partners have the flexibility to select the sources from which job listings are gathered.
