Artificial Intelligence tested in schools in Romania through a pilot project launched by the Ministry of Education and Microsoft
The Ministry of Education and Research, in partnership with Microsoft Romania, launches a pilot project dedicated to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in educational units. The aim is to support the work of teachers and optimise the learning process of pupils and students. The Ministry will designate the initial pilot unit and Microsoft will take care of the implementation.
Minister Daniel David stressed that AI is a technological tool that, if used responsibly, can bring important benefits in education. He pointed out that this step comes in addition to the extensive digitization process already started in schools, in the context of the new framework plans that include mandatory and optional disciplines related to technology and AI.
David pointed out that AI should not be seen as a replacement for the teacher, but as a support for the teacher and the students, insisting on the need for constant ethical and moral monitoring. Romania is thus aligning itself with international initiatives, such as the one in Estonia, in order not to lag behind in the digital educational revolution.
