PREPARADAS - Spain

PREPARADAS is a public, inclusive digital training programme launched by the Andalusian Regional Government to tackle gender, territorial, and socio-economic gaps in digital skills. It is specifically designed for unemployed women living in rural or vulnerable areas of Andalusia, a region historically affected by high female unemployment and digital exclusion.

Get to know the initiative

The initiative emerged in response to the growing digital divide accelerated by the digital transition and the need to ensure that no one is left behind. Despite technological advances, many women—particularly in isolated areas—remain disconnected from digital tools, training, and employment opportunities.

PREPARADAS was created to bridge this divide through a people-centred, proximity-based approach. The main objective is to reduce the gender digital gap and foster the active participation of women in the digital economy. By March 2026, the programme aims to deliver over 85,000 training courses. The initiative promotes employability, entrepreneurship, and personal development through a wide and adaptable training offer.

Why is PREPARADAS a good practice?

What makes PREPARADAS unique is its methodology, which combines: Face-to-face training in accessible spaces within small municipalities. Personalised support through dedicated mentors. Emotional empowerment and peer support. Technological innovation via a customised Moodle platform enhanced with AI for personalised learning and follow-up. The training catalogue includes over 26 thematic courses tailored to two key areas: Employability (digital tools for job search, office software, content creation) and Entrepreneurship (e-commerce, personal branding, digital business management).

PREPARADAS supports a diverse range of women, including over-45s, migrants, unpaid carers, and long-term unemployed women with low educational attainment. It helps them gain confidence, autonomy, and access to new opportunities.
