Good Practices

Why is this a best practice?

Supermums empowers mums (dads and those who aren’t parents) to develop their career in the Salesforce ecosystem. With approx. 45 million mums in the world and technology being the fastest growing sector, Supermums sees their potential in the tech sector and helps them to upskill and retrain in Salesforce, while supporting parents into finding flexible, well paid roles that fit around family life.

Supermums is a global company and now offers courses and training across 3 continents. Since 2016, they have helped over 700 mums and dads, across 10+ different countries, to start out on their Salesforce careers or looking for their next step in journey by learning, upskilling or retraining in Salesforce Admin, Marketing Cloud and Consultancy Skills.

The courses offered are remote, fully virtual and flexible around family life meaning they are the perfect fit for individuals that are looking for a change in career, going back to work after time off or looking for new skills to add to the CV. A quick look at the milestones:

  • Supermums has delivered over 1 million of free training to charities through their work experience projects and helped over 200 companies to recruit better talents.

  • The current mission is to train 1000 mums in Salesforce by 2023, so they can step into their new, flexible Salesforce career.

Supermums was a finalist in the European Digital Skills Awards 2018 edition, in the category "Digital Skills for Girls and Women".

How is it structured?

Training

  • The core part is constituted by flexible virtual training courses that facilitate the learning experience and that are tailored around individual availabilities.

Self-Study

  • The learning activities are reinforced by the use of Salesforce’s Trailhead online learning platform, that can be accessed for the flexible self-study sessions.

Practical Experience

  • The Salesforce Admin Course training programme provides real work experience that facilitates the process of acquiring practical experience on the CV.

Mentoring

  • Course trainers are available during the courses and will provide weekly mentoring to trainees on live webinars alongside the volunteer mentors on the Admin Course.

Certification

  • The available training courses will significantly help moms and trainees to work towards different Salesforce Certifications, depending on the course taken.

Job Support

  • The Recruitment team at Salesforce will try to directly match trainees with suitable open job opportunities or refer them to other partners or sources of jobs.

About Salesforce and Supermums

Salesforce is the biggest CRM in the world, and because it’s all cloud-based, many Salesforce roles offer the type of flexibility that mums are looking for. Paired with the huge shortage and growing demand for Salesforce skills across the world, a perfect solution can be found here – for mums and organisations. As a social enterprise, Supermums contributes in making a change in society by empowering women in tech, and championing flexibility in the workforce.
