Digital Inclusion

End date 31/12/2030

Capgemini's Digital Literacy program Launched in 2019, our Digital Literacy program aims to provide access to digital tools and teach elementary digital skills to the most disadvantaged populations. Some of our initiatives specifically target girls and young women, notably to introduce them to the job opportunities offered by the technology sector. In 2020, more than 300,000 people around the world benefited from Capgemini’s initiatives. In 2023, we aim to support 400,000 people through the Digital Literacy program. About 35% of Digital Inclusion projects led by Capgemini cover digital upskilling programs delivered in schools and universities. Our international network of colleagues deploy their skills to benefit digital inclusion in many ways. Here are some examples of recent initiatives led by Capgemini : Organizing initiation workshops on programming and robotics and presenting digital and tech careers in high schools in France and Germany Offering children and young people with limited access to technology new digital education opportunities in their schools, through innovative technology equipment (3D printer, laser cutter, VR glasses, …) and teaching them technical skills with the MakerSpace program in Germany Engaging school children through a digital platform (OnePlanet Academy) to sensitize them towards taking a proactive stance towards the environment   Capgemini's Digital Academy program Our Digital Academies offer training for underrepresented and marginalized populations (refugees, low-income people, ex-offenders, etc.), helping them to acquire the technology skills that are in demand in the job market (for example in artificial intelligence, cloud and cybersecurity) and securing a job and financial stability. Launched in 2018 across Europe and beyond, the program now constitutes a global network of training centers, with 30 Digital Academies training 4,500 students in 2020, exceeding our initial target of 3,000 students. In 2023, we want to double our number of beneficiaries, setting up a target of 6,500 students trained. Capgemini, like its clients, relies on qualified talent to support the transformation of businesses. Graduates of the Digital Academies therefore represent a tremendous pool of talent, trained in highly sought-after key skills. The Group is committed to hiring at least 10% of its graduates each year. In 2020, we recruited 950 graduates, far exceeding our 2023 initial ambition of 650 graduates, and 300 people for 2020.   Capgemini's Tech for Positive Futures initiative The Tech for Positive Futures initiative launched by Capgemini aims to harness the power of technology and innovation to tackle issues such as social inclusion, the environment, education, health and safety, and employment. In 2020, we launched our first Tech for Positive Futures Challenge, a competition bringing together employees from 15 countries who came up with creative technology solutions to current societal issues. 79 T4PF solutions have been delivered so far, especially around digital skills globally by helping our Digital Inclusion partners move online: Digital Unite program: Supporting local communities, priority neighborhoods and under-represented population to increase digital awareness by imparting basic digital skills in the UK Family Promise project: Building digital training material to enable low income, homeless people access public information and services on housing, health, job applications, etc. Pixis AI platform: Helping high school students suffering from lack of information on training and career paths access trainings and information on career opportunities Le déclic platform: helping young people to be in touch with volunteers that would guide them through their job search (best way to apply for a job, CV review, etc).
