Providing free of charge cyber security for young people
The Haaukins platform has been developed by Aalborg University in collaboration with other universities and supported by the Danish Industry Foundation. An open source project, it turned out much more successful than anyone could have expected and forms today a backbone in cyber security training for young people in Denmark - used by educations, volunteers and young people in the hacking/cyber security community.
We are now facing a situation where the initial funding is running out, and we need to find a new way to keep running the platform and supporting the users.
Campfire Security has as an overall goal to keep Haaukins available free of charge for young people and educational users. We do this by generating a commercial income stream, which over time will allow us to keep the pledge: To always make 100 virtual labs available for educations and young people.
During 2025-2026 this is done in collaboration with Aalborg University, but from 2027 and onwards this will be the sustainable solution that keeps Haaukins running independently of other public and private funding sources - only funded by also providing commercial services that help afford the community efforts.
