STEM Talent Girl
Background
ASTI Talent and Technology Foundation is a company created as part of ASTI TechGroup, one of the leader companies in technology, to develop programs to improve society by using technology and fostering talent. ASTI TechGroup originates from ASTI Mobile Robotics. Core company activity is automating the internal logistics by employing AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) or Mobile robotics. This engineering company mainly demands STEM profiles to be part of their team.
Team leader Verónica Pascual recognized the importance of diversity in teams and decided to create a program to stimulate feminine vocations as there are not enough feminine profiles applying for vacancies. This program was STEM Talent Girl, and it got so big in number of participants and locations that it was necessary to create a foundation to manage the program and continue with the growth. STEM Talent Girl is designed to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of women leaders in science and technology.
Our initiatives
We provide the girls with different activities to discover science and technology from a non-formal educative method.
- We offer feminine role models through masterclasses.
- We also organise technological workshops to learn by doing.
- We also offer the girls the opportunity to learn in company the different STEM Jobs by performing shadowing sessions. They have the chance of taking part in different events where they can meet professional women and other girls with similar interests. When the girls are in the years before university, the girls are matched with a mentor, a professional woman who on a monthly basis will keep a virtual session to share their knowledge.
