Tech language for everyone
Our pledge
The technology uses languages that can exclude. Officina Microtesti is the first Italian studio dedicated to designing services and writing for the user experience based on cognitive psychology. We work towards making the digital space a place for everyone, where digital products speak a single human language regardless of age, schooling, gender, localization, ethnicity. Our mission is to help professionals, Public Administrations, and companies understand how language can be a tool for inclusion and accessibility. We make it through high-focused community activity, both online (discussions, webinars, free training) and offline (open meet-ups, other free training events). We offer mentorship, take courses and other free events to make tech a place for everyone, through plain language and the respect of emotions and mental models.

Background
We decided to start the pledge hoping to make the digital world a place for everyone. Economic crisis and the recent pandemic have underlined the need of building a more inclusive tech world, to allow youth to find better employment. We also want to support our local communities and improve their digital skills to access new job opportunities in a more open context, upskill and reskill the labour force who's actually suffering the post-pandemic crisis.
