The e-Skills Match self-assessment tool offers an easy way to assess one's digital competence level and understand the type of skills to foster and build on with the aim of securing employment and enhancing one's overall career development.

The tool targets three broad groups: information and communication technology (ICT) professionals, public institutions and private employers.

Three types of services fall under the tool's scope:

  • e-Competences self-assessment with related outcomes formalised by graphs.
  • e-Competences job profile training resources, including open education resources (OERs), massive open online courses (MOOCs), and market certifications.
  • e-Competences certifications based on validation procedures recognised at European level.

ICT professionals can create and manage their own digital portfolio, assess and analyse their digital competences, and receive tailored suggestions for open resources and upskilling MOOCs. Through the E-Portfolio, they can also network and reach employers within the ICT sector in need of the skills they possess.

Public bodies can also use the tool and find available courses, tailored to the European e-Competence Framework's areas, in order to upskill their employees. Private sector employers and recruiters can access a wide pool of available and trained candidates, and enrol their existing employees in upskilling programmes in order to prepare the entire workforce for the future.

e-Skills Match project is co-funded by European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology (DG CONNECT) under a grant agreement.
