Details on this event
The event is a good opportunity to highlight and give visibility to current and ongoing CoVE projects, as well as training centres from all over Europe, working together on initiatives within vocational excellence.
The Forum will discuss the latest developments on the European initiative on Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). CoVE is a key initiative that supports the EU Vocational Education and Training (VET) policy, funded via the Erasmus+ funding programme of the European Union.
High-level political representatives, including national governments (from both EU and neighbourhood countries), social partners and their European level representatives, VET provider associations, regional authorities, international organisations, as well as European institutions and agencies, are expected to all participate in the event. The aim of the 2022 Forum is also to expand the network of participating VET centres and relevant stakeholders of the education and VET community - and ultimately, reach the EU target of setting up at least 100 networks of vocational excellence by 2027.
Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs): a bottom-up approach to skills development
The initiative on Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) puts forward a different approach to skills development and vocational excellence - from the ground up. The initiative supports VET institutions and training centres to adapt their skills provision offering so they address the challenges of the twin digital and green transition, contributing also to the sector's recovery post COVID-19.
CoVEs bring together a wide range of local, regional and national partners from different countries, including but not limited to: initial and continuing VET providers, universities of applied sciences and polytechnics, research institutions, companies, chambers, social partners, social enterprises, national and regional authorities, development agencies, employment services, and social inclusion organisations. CoVEs are closely integrated within innovation ecosystems, operating in specific local contexts and co-creating 'skills ecosystems' together with training centres and interested stakeholders.
