Power up skills: Developing Europe’s workforce

Virtual Live

On 21 September, the Pact for Skills is organising “A networking event for current and potential Pact for Skills members to address skills challenges” that will take place from 09:30 until 15:00 CET Online.

The event will be moderated by Vicki Donlevy, Director for the Pact for Skills support services.

The Pact for Skills was launched in November 2020 by the European Commission as a shared engagement model for skills development in Europe aiming to maximise the impact of skills investment. It aims to support public and private organisations with upskilling and reskilling, so they can thrive through the green and digital transitions. As one of the flagship actions of the European Skills Agenda, the Pact is firmly anchored in the European Pillar of Social Rights.

All interested organisations are welcome to join the Pact. National, regional and local authorities; companies; social partners; cross-industry and sectoral organisations; chambers of commerce; education and training providers; employment services – can all become members of the Pact for Skills. Since its launch, close to 700 organisations have joined the Pact.

This networking event is an opportunity for interested organisations and recent Pact members to learn more about the Pact, its benefits and activities. It is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from across Europe facing similar challenges and to join forces in dealing with upskilling and reskilling the European workforce.

The event is structured in two parts:

  • In the morning, the agenda will allow you to hear from your colleagues who joined the Pact already, as well as to gain an overview of the tools and resources offered by the recently launched Pact for Skills Support Services and the latest policy developments. Attendees will also hear about how to join the Pact for Skills and will have the opportunity to meet the coordinators of the Large-scale Skills Partnerships developed under the Pact and learn about the initiatives launched in the different industrial ecosystems.
  • After the lunch break, attendees will become the main protagonists of this networking event. Through this website, participants will be able to read about other attendees, identify key potential peers for networking and organise one-to-one meetings. You will also be able to choose to attend short information sessions to learn more about aspects of the Pact that are of interest to you.
