The rapid advancement of technology and the digitalization of services have necessitated healthcare institutions and service designers to adapt. The Covid-19 crisis has further emphasized the need to improve the performance of health systems and explore emerging digital opportunities. In response, a proposal has been proposed to develop a specialized Master's program in digital skills for the health sector.

This interdisciplinary program aims to equip professionals with the necessary capacity to address complex healthcare challenges in ageing societies. By fostering a co-creation process, an ecosystem will be built to collaboratively find innovative solutions. The program's effectiveness relies on a combination of transversal skills (communication, management, social, and research), sector-specific knowledge (healthcare), service design, and technological learning.

The proposed program, known as ManagiDiTH (Master's Degree of Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector), brings together four partner universities, a research center, and relevant healthcare and technology organizations. Leveraging the expertise and experience gained from previous projects within the consortium, the program aims to achieve several objectives:

  • Develop training references aligned with level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework in the digital healthcare sector.
  • Implement a trialogical pedagogical model that prioritizes problem-based learning strategies and utilizes digital tools.
  • Create an interdisciplinary learning ecosystem through a quadruple helix model, involving academia, industry, government, and civil society.
  • Upskill graduates from various backgrounds including Health, Social & Welfare, Business & Administration, and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT).

Scope

The project will equip professionals, enhancing their capacity to address the challenges of complex healthcare problems in aging societies. Through a co-creation process, an ecosystem will be fostered, facilitating the collaborative effort to find innovative solutions.
