The rapid advancement of technology and the digitalization of services have required healthcare institutions and service designers to adapt. The Covid-19 crisis further highlighted the need to strengthen health systems and explore the opportunities created by digital technologies. In this context, the Master Programme in Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (ManagiDiTH) was created to develop specialized digital skills for the health sector.

This interdisciplinary programme equips professionals with the skills needed to address complex healthcare challenges, particularly in ageing societies. The programme combines transversal competences (such as communication, management, social and research skills) with sector-specific knowledge in healthcare, service design, and digital technologies. Through a collaborative and practice-oriented learning approach, students develop the capacity to design and implement innovative digital solutions in healthcare organizations.

The programme is offered jointly by three universities: Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (Portugal), Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland), and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). The consortium also includes partners from the research, healthcare, and technology sectors, creating an ecosystem that supports collaboration between academia, industry, and society.

Scope

The programme aims to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support digital transformation in healthcare systems. By fostering a co-creation approach, it encourages collaboration between different stakeholders to develop practical and innovative solutions for healthcare challenges.
