Advanced Cryptography (CyberProTrain IT–ES-GR)
Get a basic understanding of cryptography, and explore the main concepts and building blocks of data protection with this "Advanced Cryptography" course, developed within the framework of the DIGITAL Europe Programme-funded CyberPro Train project. It is available in Italian (IT), Spanish (ES) and Greek (GR).
The CyberPro Train project addresses the EU’s cybersecurity skills gap by providing specialised training, aligned with EU directives to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and public administrations.
About this course
This course is designed for professionals across industry sectors, including SME employees and public administration staff, looking to enhance their cybersecurity knowledge. Participants will acquire advanced skills to implement post-quantum, cryptographic protocols.
Dates of course
The course runs on three different dates, one for each language. The exact schedule can be found below:
- 14 April 2026 from 09:00 - 13:00 (GMT+1) - Italian (IT)

- 16 April 2026 from 09:00 - 13:00 (GMT+1) - Spanish (ES)
Course structure
The course is split in three sections:
- Introduction to Cryptography and Symmetric Cryptography
- Asymmetric Cryptography, Authentication and Quantum related Techniques
- Practical Exercise and final test
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you will:
- Get to know key cryptographic concepts and learn the basics of symmetric cryptography.
- Understand the basics of key exchange mechanisms, digital signatures and authentication on the web through TLS protocol.
- Learn how to check an HTTPS Connection and gain the ability to demonstrate how to verify the presence of a digital certificate on a website and how to read it - to confirm its reliability.
- Understand how to manage advanced protocols and how to evaluate and mitigate side-channel attacks and quantum threats.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be issued an open badge with the acquired skills.
