Intermediate Python Programming and Data Visualization with Dublin City University (DCU) - DigiAdvance

‘Intermediate Python Programming and Data Visualization’ is a DigiAdvance course developed by Dublin City University. DigiAdvance aims to address digital skills gaps in the SME sector through the provision of low-cost, demand-driven, tailored training in key digital technologies for SME owners, managers and employees. This course explores techniques for extracting and preprocessing data using Python, applying descriptive analysis for decision-making, and utilising key data analytics libraries through hands-on activities. Additionally, it examines the fundamentals of data visualisation, develops skills to create and share visual representations of analysis, and learning to analyse and critique visualisations. This course equips participants with the tools to describe and interpret data effectively, enhancing their ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.

- Basic Correlation and Regression
Week 2 – Data Visualisation with Python (4 hours)
- Introduction to Data Visualisation
- Selecting Appropriate Visualisation
- Data Misrepresentation and Critique
- Generating Graphs and Charts in Python
- Data Reporting and Presentation
DigiAdvance courses aim to advance the knowledge and skills of SME leaders, managers, employees and job seekers in key digital technologies. This short course is fully online and asynchronous. Participants receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the course. Students may register for the course any time from March 3rd to July 1st 2025.
