Intermediate R Programming and Data Visualization with Dublin City University (DCU) - DigiAdvance

‘Intermediate R Programming and Data Visualization’ is a DigiAdvance course developed by Dublin City University. DigiAdvance aims to address digital skills gaps in the SME sector through the provision of low-cost, demand-driven, tailored training in key digital technologies for SME owners, managers and employees. This course is one of a number of flexible short-form courses offered by this project, which is co-funded by the EU.
This course builds on foundational knowledge of R programming and introduces key skills for data analytics and visualisation. It explores techniques for extracting data from various sources, applying descriptive analysis, and working with essential R libraries through practical activities. Additionally, the course examines data visualisation principles, focusing on creating and effectively communicating data insights using graphics, labels, colours, and images. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to share compelling narratives and visualise data to support informed decision-making.

Week 2 – Data Visualisation and Communication with R (4 hours)

- Generating Graphs and Charts in R
- Data Reporting and Presentation
DigiAdvance courses aim to advance the knowledge and skills of SME leaders, managers, employees and job seekers in key digital technologies. This short course is fully online and asynchronous. Participants receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the course. Students may register for the course any time from March 3rd to July 1st 2025.
