Introduction to a Web of Linked Data MOOC

This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) by Inria, the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology offers a practical overview of the semantic web, which has evolved and become a tool for exchanging data between various applications.
The course takes participants through the basics and principles of Linked Data (a term, used in computer science to define structured data interlinked with other data so it becomes more useful through semantic queries). Students also receive a sound overview of the most common standards, supporting the exchange and integration of RDF (Resource Description Framework) data with other formats and data sources, and the RDF recommendation that provides a standard data model allowing for publication and linked data on the web. Participants also learn how to use SPARQL query language, so that they can access data sources on the web.
Background of the course and enrollment
The course has been running since January 2019 and new students can join until 31 December 2022. It runs over the course of 4 weeks and is led by 3 instructors, experts in data science, the semantic web, and emerging technologies' research and development by INRIA. The course is offered in French through the open learning platform for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) France Université Numérique.
Each week alternates short videos and quizzes, as well as supplementary resources, to gradually progress through the different principles and standards. Upon successful completion, participants receive a free certificate, certifying their accomplishment.
