The Master of Applied Data Science is a programme offered by Frankfurt School of Finance and Management designed for young, math-inclined graduates who want to pursue a career in data science. Students of the programme will learn how to master the principles of data science, how to apply cutting-edge approaches to address real-world business challenges, and examine the ethical and legal implications of applied data science to become responsible practitioners in the area, building on their good quantitative foundations.
The curriculum of the Master provides a combination of quantitative research and analytical skills. Participants will be able to apply computational abilities to current business challenges and navigate the modern data environment as knowledgeable data scientists.
About the programme
Graduates will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental theories, principles, and methodologies in Data Science. They will be able to recognise, analyse, and assess complicated data issues. These competencies are particularly developed in the core modules of the programme, such as Algorithms and Data Structures, Introduction to Data Analytics in Business or Computational Statistics and Probability and via various means of teaching, learning and assessment.
Students will also have the ability to construct and critically assess computational, data-driven models to solve complex data problems in Business. Also, graduates will formulate technical problem solutions and represent them in discourse. These competencies are practiced in many modules of the programme such as Introduction to Data Analytics in Business or Guided Studies in Financial Management, in which students are required to complete numerous week-long projects in order to comprehend and apply the knowledge and skills learned in the module.
