Master's program in Software Engineering (Blekinge University of Technology)

Blekinge University of Technology (BTH)'s master’s programme in Software Engineering is a training course aimed at preparing students to meet the complex challenges of software development of the future. A holistic training approach

The training focuses on developing students’ ability to analyse, improve and apply knowledge in software development. Students will acquire the knowledge of developing software for products and services with high efficiency and quality requirements. The programme includes topics such as cloud work, machine learning, software security and research methodology. This gives students a holistic view of the complex process of software development, including planning, crash collection, implementation and testing.

The training is also part of research preparation, providing opportunities for those interested in research in the field of software technologies. BTH is highly rated globally in research on applied software technologies, and this programme is strongly linked to this research.

Course details

The part-time course is taught in English and remotely. The programme consists of 60 university credits (HP) and culminates in a Philosophy Master’s degree.

Who can join?

Qualification requirements: Students must have a Bachelor’s or University Engineer’s degree with at least 180 credits in a technical field. The Examination should include an autonomous project of at least 15 credits. After completing the training, participants must have gained at least two years of work experience in software development, as confirmed by an employer’s certificate. This experience shall include programming skills, as attested by certificates. Finally, knowledge equivalent to English 6 is required.
