Training webinar: Discovering Disinformation: Critical thinking in the era of AI (60 minutes with an expert)
Sign up for the training webinar on "Discovering Disinformation: Critical thinking in the era of AI" on 20 January 2026, organised by the National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic. The online webinar is designed for teachers in grammar, primary and secondary schools and takes place on 20 January from 17:00 to 18:30.
About this training webinar
The webinar is focused on the analysis of fake news, hoaxes and disinformation that appear not only on social networks, but also in the media in general. Participants will work with real-life demonstrations – from viral contributions to media texts to news outputs – and will acquire the ability to detect manipulation practices used in the context of outreach. Through targeted analytical questions, they learn to look beneath the surface of the message and uncover its true meaning. In practice, they will try different approaches of critical thinking.
The webinar also includes an introduction to the use of artificial intelligence in the verification of information and the recognition of disinformation, including an understanding of its possibilities and limitations. Participants will practically try out how AI can help in analysing texts and in which situations, on the contrary, it may not be reliable.
The webinar is designed especially for teachers of secondary vocational schools who want to involve media literacy in their teaching and lead pupils to effective and critical work with information in both digital and traditional media environments.
