VMware IT Academy: Getting Started in IT

VMware IT Academy enables instructors at academic institutions to deliver authorized VMware course in a variety of settings.
The course "Getting Started in IT" provides an overview of the key concepts related to the world of IT. Upon completion of this micro-course, the learner will have the basic understanding of compute, software, data centers, cloud. Additionally, the learner will be able to set up a virtual machine and create a web page in html. As outcomes the student will learn the basic IT concepts, and be able to set up a small-scale datacenter themselves:

Objectives of the course
The course aims to achieve three objectives:
a. Explain the learner all the basic IT concepts that they require to launch their learning journey and career in IT.
b. Prepare the learner for the VMware associate course offerings in various technology domains from cloud and digital workspace over networking to security and application modernization.
c. Provide the learner with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills to build their own small private data center with file, web, email, DNS, VPN, and firewall services.
The course is mainly aimed at students f secondary education, university students or technical learners and professionals.
