Who are we and what is our establishment purpose?
SistersLab - Association for Women in Science and Technology has been established by three sisters on March 2021,to increase awareness in gender equality and to support women's empowerment in STEM, through education.It carries activities to increase the visibility, capacity, and employment of the target group, girls and women in STEM fields.
Who is our target audience?
Our target audience is girls and women. Our target group and activities regarding to them can be listed as follows:
1- Children:
- Girls Between 7 - 13 Ages: We organize various of trainings such as Gender Equality and STEM trainings (robotics, coding, design) for children to learn basic algorithm sense and improve their STEM skills.
- High School Girls Between 14 - 17 Ages: We organize workshops, trainings, hackathons, mentoring programs, role-model sessions, and bootcamps regarding high school girls. With these activities, we aim to introduce STEM fields and professions.
2- Adult:
- Women Living in Rural: We prepare training content regarding basic internet usage for women living in rural areas who can do their daily work (e-devlet/government, MHRS, e-shopping, bank applications, etc.) alone via the internet or phone applications. These trainings are generally as follows: Internet and computer use, social media use, e-mail address acquisition and use, and safe internet.
- Women Studying in and Graduating from STEM Programs: We empower women who are graduates or seniors from STEM programs via bootcamps and employ them in partner companies. At the same time, we organize bootcamps and hackathons of different technologies for this target group.
3- Institutional Trainings
- Trainer-trainings and workshops are given to NGOs, schools, and municipalitie
Our Works
- Developing software training programs for women to increase female employment in the software industry,
- Providing STEM and gender equality trainings to primary, secondary and high school students,
- Preparing and providing gender equality training programs to companies,
- Providing in-house trainings for companies to create policies regarding Gender Equality and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse,
- Organizing webinars withrole model women working in the field to increase the visibility of women in technology,
- Forming mentoring programs for girls and women who aim for careers in STEM fields,
- Providing labor law trainings by approaching women's human rights with a holistic perspective to ensure that women learn about their rights in business life, recognize the discrimination they are exposed to in the field, and learn the suitable action mechanisms to assert their rights,
- Teknolojide kadın hareketini destekleyen herkesin var olabileceği dayanışma ağı ve topluluk yaratmak,
- Creating a solidarity network and community where everyone supporting the women’s movement in technology can exist,
- Providing STEM, gender equality trainings & trainer-trainings to institutions,
- Organizing hackathons in thematic areas (environment, ecology, climate, etc.) in partnership with institutions.

As SistersLab, we carry out club and academy activities for an egalitarian and pluralistic society; and conduct trainings, studies, and social media campaigns that aim to empower the capacities and abilities of individuals in our fields to support them in playing an active and effective role in society, and also getting out of the poverty cycle.
