The Study on skills mismatches in the blockchain sector was published in November 2021 by CHAISE - an EU-funded initiative that aims to set forward a sectoral approach on Blockchain Skills Development. The study concludes almost one year of research on the current state of play of blockchain skills demand and supply in Europe.

This study presents CHAISE findings on the European blockchain ecosystem and analyses the structure and nature of blockchain employment, such as the characteristics and educational profile of the blockchain worforce and skills usually required by employers.

Based on these findings, the study provides recommendations for policymakers and future blockchain curricula. Further, it provides insights on the future of the blockchain labour market in Europe and presents unique blockchain workforce personas developed by the CHAISE researchers, namely the Blockchain Developer, the Blockchain Architect and the Blockchain Manager/ Consultant.

This newly gained knowledge will serve as a basis for the development of upcoming CHAISE activities, including a blockchain skills strategy and a blockchain curriculum tailored to Europe's needs.
