The 2025 edition of the AdWiseOnline Campaign runs under the motto "Play smart, spend wisely - mind the hidden costs!", spotlighting in-game marketing and diving deeper into critical issues like persuasive design, dark patterns, loot boxes, pay-to-win-mechanisms, psychology tactics and many others. 

Within the scope of the campaign, ran under the umbrella of the European Commission's Better Internet for Kids initiative, the resource hub comprises of educational materials, a YouTube channel with several podcasts 

Podcasts

The podcast series have a dedicated channel on YouTube. Episodes tend to dive into key aspects for young people around marketing and gaming, such as the psychology behind in-game marketing or how regulation takes place around marketing practices overall. 

Be wise - Outsmart online ads and traps! - interactive guide

The interactive guide can take you through the whole process of how companies actually make money from running online advertising. It also provides tips to young people to help them escape such marketing traps and delves into the online rights they absolutely should know about.
