Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Education: Ethical and Technological Dimensions
The first AI-Education 2025 International Conference, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Education: Ethical and Technological Dimensions, will take place on 12-13 December 2025 at the International Hellenic University (IHU), Alexandria Campus in Thessaloniki.
Navigating a changing educational landscape
Integrating intelligent technologies into the educational process is a technical process, but also a cultural, pedagogical, and values challenge as the rapid progress of digital technological innovation reshapes education, lifelong learning, and professional skills development.
AI is becoming a key factor in restructuring learning (with personalised pathways, predictive assessments, smart feedback, and new forms of educational support through virtual or robotic assistants). At the same time, these technologies also intensify concerns about the ethical, ethical, bioethical, and legal dimensions of educational practice:
- Protection of privacy and personal data
- Analysis and management of large volumes of educational and personal data
- Algorithmic bias
- Accessibility
- Digital equality
A bridge between technological innovation and critical theory
Within this complex environment, the AI-Education 2025 conference aims to provide a scientific bridge between technological innovation and critical educational theory.
It offers an interdisciplinary, international forum for reflection and exchange of good practices, aiming to highlight not only the technical potential of new technologies, but also their social impact, the ethical and legal limits of their use, and the need for critically literate teachers and active citizens who can assess challenges and act responsibly in new environments.
At the same time, the conference is expected to provide a space for meaningful critical reflection on the ethical, ethical, bioethical and legal dimensions of AI integration in education that highlights the need for transparency, accountability, protection of personal data, accessibility, and the promotion of social justice in the context of a digital transformation that puts people at the centre, to empower educational communities through the cultivation of digital skills, technological literacy, and ethical awareness.
Future-proofing education
AI-Education 2025 aims to be the launch of an institutionalised framework for interdisciplinary and international dialogue on innovation, AI and the digital transformation of education, the labour market and society as a whole. Its aim is to create a stable, future-proof scientific evidence platform, strengthen public consultation on state-of-the-art technologies and provide evidence-based responses to critical issues related to the application, feasibility and impact of AI on learning, educational and employment policies and social structures.
