Digital Europe Programme NEW Call: Info Day & Pitching Event

On 12 December 2023, the European Commission presented the fifth round of DIGITAL Europe Programme call for proposal in a dedicated Info Day and Pitching Event.

About the NEW Call

Just 54% of Europeans have basic digital skills, far below the 80% target set by the Digital Decade policy programme. The number of ICT specialists in Europe also needs to increase to reach the target of getting to 20 million digital experts by 2030. This is also the case in the cybersecurity sector, where a bigger pool of specialists can help protect businesses and public services in Europe and design the cybersecurity solutions of the future. The EU needs 200,000 more cybersecurity experts than it currently has available.  

To address these challenges, the European Commission has opened the fifth Call for proposals on Advanced Digital Skills on 21 November, with a total budget of 42 million EUR to be divided in three Open Calls: 

• Specialised education programmes in key capacity areas

• Advanced Digital Skills Analysis

• Cybersecurity Skills Academy

Are you a higher education institution, a research and excellence centre or an innovative business developing digital technologies? Join the Info Day event to learn more about the 3 open calls and ask your questions in the related Q&A sessions!  

After the welcoming and the introduction from the European Health and Digital Executive Agency, the event is dedicated to an overview of the open calls. Speakers from HaDEA will also provide information on the evaluation process and administrative matters. 
 
The afternoon session will delve into the working of the “Lump Sum” in the proposal, a final Q&A and then three parallel breakout sessions will be opened. Selected participants will have a reserved slot to pitch their organisation!

• What is a lump sum and how to submit a lump sum proposal? By HaDEA

• Important points regarding the submission of a lump sum proposal

14:45 - 15:00 - Q&A session and wrap up of the Info day
15:00 - 16:00 - Pitching sessions for potential applicants under all topics

During the entire day, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the European Commission, pitch ideas for proposals and search for partners.  Registrations are now closed!
