Science Pop Up Expo brings together PhD students and companies

Are you curious about the latest research projects with which PhD students at Linköping University are working? Welcome to Science Pop Up Expo 2023! It brings together businesses and doctoral candidates to broaden their networks and create meaningful contacts for the future.

Science Pop Up Expo 2023 is a meeting place where doctoral candidates can show the projects they are working on and thus their knowledge. Participants are also entrepreneurs who are curious about the latest research projects at the University of Linköping. Together, they find ways to work together, create jobs or get involved in a project. The event is a platform where future collaborations can be created. The introduction of lectures for doctoral candidates is inspiring and motivating doctoral candidates to show their own projects. At 12.00 p.m., companies arrive, giving each doctorate the chance to showcase and share their project.

Doctoral candidates usually have knowledge ranging from computing, electronics, materials science, software design and development, to corrosion sciences, surface engineering and computational imaging, as well as visualisation and image analysis.

The event is organised by the University of Linköping on behalf of Vinnova, Sweden’s Innovation Authority.

Science Pop Up Expo 2023 will take place on 19 April in Linköping. The event starts at 11 with lectures for doctoral candidates. Elena Hoffer, Dr at the Karolinska Institute, opens the lecture block by talking about what can be done during your doctorate to make the distance between the Academy and the outside world to a little less reading. She refers to the academic bubble that sometimes feels the only one that exists, when a doctorate can take you anywhere, only you wash.

The lecture is followed by Johannes Bintinger, CEO of N-ink. PhD students will also listen to how to work on the business incubator LEAD to help tech startups grow faster.

During the event, mingel and light lunch will be offered.
