Wednesday Webinars on Digital & Media Literacy in Europe ''Games for Good: Media Literacy and Digital Citizenship''

On 11 December, the Media & Learning Association (MLA) is organising a webinar on Games for Good: Media Literacy and Digital Citizenship. This is part of MLA’s Wednesday Webinars, a series of monthly online sessions focusing on various topics related to digital and media literacy. The topics of the sessions are chosen based on ongoing projects, media literacy trends, and ongoing collaborations with other organisations.
As games continue to surge in popularity, their role as powerful educational tools has never been more evident. Beyond entertainment, games have become key mediums for teaching media literacy and fostering digital citizenship.
Session outline & focus
This Wednesday's Webinar session will:
explore the transformative potential of games as educational tools
delve into how they can be leveraged for social activism and awareness
This will be supported by real-life examples of impactful games that address critical social issues, demonstrating how the interactive session of these can foster empathy and understanding in participants. The discussion will also focus on ways to combat cyberbullying and toxic behaviour within the gaming community, highlighting instead the positive outcomes that games can provide in promoting a healthier and more inclusive digital culture.
Speakers will be announced soon. Participants can alreadyregister via the MLA website.
