EY and Microsoft

In a world where AI and sustainable development are redefining work, EY Greece and Microsoft – as part of the global alliance between the two organisations – are joining forces again, launching two free online education programmes. The aim of theAI Skills Passport and Green Skills Passport programs is to equip young people in Greece with the necessary skills for the job market of tomorrow.

From the digital divide to digital empowerment

The need for artificial intelligence (AI) skills is becoming more pressing, with a recent global survey by EY and TeachAI, with the support of Microsoft, revealing that only 15% of Gen Z feel satisfied with the way their educational institution or employer prepares them for the age of artificial intelligence. AI Skills Passport (AISP) comes to fill this gap by equipping young people with critical skills for the modern workplace, also targeting upskilling in basic and specialized AI knowledge.

It is a global training programme, already offered in 20 countries, including Greece, designed to help young people aged 16 and over, young professionals, but also people from less privileged social groups, get acquainted with AI, understand its applications and discover how it can be used in various sectors and professions. The content covers topics such as the basic principles of AI, its ethical dimensions, as well as its practical applications in business, sustainable development and technology.

Green skills: The New Opportunity of Tomorrow

However, technology is only one part of the equation of the future of work. Sustainable growth and the transition to a green economy are a necessity, creating an urgent need for new skills. Responding to this challenge, EY and Microsoft are also offering the Green Skills Passport, an initiative that prepares young people for the green jobs of tomorrow. And this future is already shaping, with the International Labour Organization (ILO) predicting that 24 million new jobs will be created by 2030 in the field of sustainable development.

With already over 46,000 participants worldwide, Green Skills Passport provides education for young people over 16, covering critical topics such as sustainable development, climate action, green entrepreneurship, and preparing for the labour market. At the same time, it is a powerful tool for non-governmental organisations, giving them the platform to empower vulnerable communities with new skills.

A future, a common effort

Both online programmes are offered free of charge in Greece, in English, and are accessible on any device (web and mobile), allowing participants to watch them at their own pace. Upon completion of the programmes, participants receive a certificate from EY and Microsoft, which enhances their CV and gives them access to additional educational and professional resources (learning & career resources).
