Lithuanian education start-up Eliseus wins WSA European Young Innovator 2025 award
The Lithuanian educational technology start-up Eliseus has been recognised as the winner of the WSA European Young Innovator 2025, one of the most prominent awards in Europe for young teams developing digital innovations with a social impact. The award is managed by the World Summit Awards (WSA), a global initiative that works with the United Nations and brings together a community of 182 countries.
Eliseus was awarded for a platform for the diagnosis and personalisation of mathematics, which helps to identify pupils’ knowledge gaps at an early stage and provides teachers, schools and municipalities with clear data and insights on how to improve the quality of pupils’ learning and close knowledge gaps.
According to Mantas Vičius, CEO of Eliseus, the company’s goal is to provide meaningful feedback and solutions for every student, making a real difference to children’s learning.
European Young Innovators is the European format of the WSA programme, highlighting teams whose decisions contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals on an annual basis. The winners are presented at the European Festival of Young Innovators in Graz, Austria. This year, the festival will take place from 26 to 28 November and 15 winners of the European Young Innovators are invited. This includes the Ellice team.
“Students deserve to see their progress and teachers need to have the tools to act quickly and accurately, saving them precious time. We work to make diagnostics a daily compass for teaching and learning, not a one-time payment that causes stress for everyone. This international assessment helps to open the door to cooperation and development beyond Lithuania’s borders'', says Tomas Šiurna, Head of Innovation at Eliseus.
Eliseus is currently being implemented in Lithuanian schools together with municipalities and schools. The platform integrates into the rhythm of lessons, generates understandable summaries and allows the responsible authorities to see the real picture of the situation. The team emphasizes that the diagnosis being developed is not a final assessment, but a daily tool to spot gaps faster and purposefully strengthen students' knowledge.
