Collaborative Robotics - Digital Assembly Assistant (REBOOT)
Program a robot to act as your digital assembly assistant and have him assemble a light switch - with this short, face-to-face training course by the REBOOT project.
The REBOOT (Rebooting manufacturing industry with digitalisation skill development) project aims to make digital upskilling opportunities available and accessible to employees in small and medium-sized organisations (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector. Advanced digital skills courses are available in key areas for manufacturing like Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT). The project is funded under the DIGITAL Europe Programme of the European Union.
About this course
The course is face-to-face and takes around 4 hours of total time from start to finish. Course topics include:
- General introduction robot programming strategies: Hardcoded, Simulation, Programming-by-Demonstration, Skill-based programming
- Introduction to skill-based programming: SkiROS and a hands-on session for teaching new skills
- Introduction to digital assistant framework on top of SkiROS and a hands-on session on intuitive human-robot interaction.
The objective of this course is to make the participant aware of the different robot programming strategies, with a specific focus on skill-based robot programming and the intuitive interaction with operators.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to program a robot to assemble a light switch, making use of the skill-based robot framework. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to reconfigure a robot from hardcoded programming to parametrised, adaptive skill-programming and to start composing your own skill library.
