Digital Skills for Children – NTT Data Foundation

NNT Data launches an initiative to support the development of digital skills in children and adolescents. A project focused on boosting the different initiatives to reduce the digital divide, fostering computational thinking, stimulating creativity and bringing children and young people closer to programming and technology not only as consumers but also as creators.
Under the premise “Play and Make it”, the aim is to get children to play to develop digital skills and soft skills that will become essential tools for their lives. The activities, all led by our volunteers, include:
- Technology Olympics, which foster critical thinking, discipline, resilience and problem-solving capacity through programming and technology.
- Free online courses available to children, parents, trainers and institutes.
Technological cleaners
It is an online programming competition for children aged 7-16 available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. The cleaners are carried out through a digital learning platform that will enable participants to create and design video games, stories and animations in a very fun and original way. Participants will be able to move forward at their own pace, but always with the support of a personal coaches, who as in any cleaners will help the contestants to prepare for the great finish.
Free online courses
The NTT Data Foundation has designed a free online course structured in a playful way with experiences, tricks and challenges to make the learning process challenging and effective.
It is designed for children to have direct access or for any trainer, teacher, educator or father to see and then teach it in their surroundings.
