FinTech with Example Applications in Food Supply Chain (TRUST-FOOD)

The course 'FinTech with Example Applications in Food Supply Chain' is designed for employees in the agriculture and food industry, FinTech entrepreneurs and innovators, supply chain managers, professionals working in the finance and banking sectors, academics and researchers and students in related fields. It is developed within the scope of the DIGITAL Europe Programme's funded TRUST-FOOD project, which aims to make knowledge about blockchain available and accessible to European SMEs throughout the food supply chain and related industries. 

Why this course? 

The goal of this course is to give a chance to participants to understand the key principles and main applications of FinTech, explore how FinTech is transforming the food supply chain, and evaluate real-world examples of FinTech applications in the food supply chain. Another aim is to provide a sound understanding of FinTech, its core components, and its transformative applications in various sectors, with a special focus on the agri-food sector. 

Learning outcomes

Learners will explore the influence of FinTech innovations on the food supply chain, highlighting how technologies such as blockchain, AI, data analytics, digital payments, and smart contracts enhance efficiency, traceability, and transaction management. 

Participants will also engage in assessing real-world case studies to understand the practical implementation of these technologies in the agri-food sector. Furthermore, the course will investigate the future trends in FinTech, providing insights into upcoming developments that could significantly impact the agri-food industry.
