Introduction to phishing - manufacturing (CYRUS)

Phishing remains one of the most prevalent and effective cyber threats, with attackers sending approximately 3.4 billion phishing emails daily – contributing to 90% of corporate security breaches. This training, developed within the framework of the CYRUS project, provides a foundational understanding of phishing attacks, covering various methods, including email phishing (spear phishing, whaling), voice phishing (vishing), SMS phishing (smishing), SEO poisoning and pharming.
The aim of the DIGITAL-funded CYRUS project, Enhancing employees’ cybersecurity skills for better protection against cybersecurity attacks, is to support the capabilities and development of skills for employees in companies involved in manufacturing and transport to mitigate cyber threats.
About this course
Designed for employees, students and general internet users, the course aims to raise awareness about phishing risks and teach practical defence strategies. Participants will learn how attackers exploit psychological triggers, recognise phishing attempts across different platforms and understand the lifecycle of a phishing attack – from baiting the victim to extracting valuable information.

Upon completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify different types of phishing attacks
- Understand how attackers execute phishing attacks and the tactics they use
- Safeguard personal and organisational data and respond effectively to phishing threats
