National MSc in Artificial Intelligence (ICT Skillnet)

Single offer

This 2-year online part-time Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Limerick (UL), is aimed at information technology (IT) professionals, as well as employees looking to reskill and join the field from adjacent disciplines, who already possess some computing and mathematics knowledge. The programme takes place over 5 teaching semesters and 1 research-oriented semester, dedicated to the development and implementation of a research project. The goal of this opportunity is to equip interested learners with the knowledge and skills required to work in fields related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and others.

The programme is developed in conjunction with industry representatives across national sectors in Ireland, with the aim of ensuring maximum impact and relevance of content. Course material is structured in a way so as to allow each student to explore other subjects and related ideas independently. Expert support from module leaders and moderators, responsible for guiding course students in smaller groups, is also provided. The programme's modules are structured around online educational activities and delivery can be completely remote.

In order to be eligible for the MSc, every participant must have a Level 8 hoours degree, which means at minimum a second class honours (NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalent), in a relevant engineering, computing, mathematics, science or technology discipline. Nevertheless, participants who possess a significant mathematics or computing (i.e. programming) knowledge will also be considered.

Next Master Programme will start on the 1st of September 2022.
