According to the Digital Decade report 2025, the percentage of ICT specialists in employment has surpassed the EU average with 8.6% (EU average - 5%). The share of female specialists in 2024 was 24%. Sweden can count on a good digital infrastructure. Although it, lags behind on e-Health, its population scores high in both basic and advanced IT skills.Sweden has a National coalition for digital skills and jobs led by IT&Telekomföretagen - Swedish IT and Telecom Industries.Sweden's digitalisation strategy, adopted in 2017, aims to position the country as a frontrunner in digital transformation. Additional strategies include AI and data strategies. The National Agency for Education has proposed a new digitalization strategy for the school system (2023-2027) to enhance equivalence in education. Under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, Sweden allocates EUR 3.3 billion to address digital challenges and expand education opportunities. Also, the Swedish strategic roadmap for the Digital Decade, developed by the Government of Sweden, sets out the strategic goals to be achieved by 2030, monitoring their achievement, and the target paths and key measures have been developed. Finally, it is worth mentioning the annual event 'Digitalidag', which brings together stakeholders to encourage participation in digital development, and the Digital Skills Sweden Initiative.
