Digital Highfive- Denmark

The High Five Tour is a mobile classroom offering free digital and AI training across Denmark. Visiting 17 cities, it empowered 25,000 citizens with essential skills, promoting inclusion and digital readiness through workshops, expert sessions, and strong local partnerships

About the initiative

In Denmark, one in five citizens struggles to engage with digital technologies. It is a challenge affecting over a million people. To close this gap, the High Five Tour was launched with a clear objective: to empower 25,000 people with basic digital and AI skills through hands-on workshops, expert talks, and 1:1 coaching.

The mobile classroom visited 17 cities, bringing learning directly to communities, while a supporting app ensured continued learning before, during, and after the tour.

Backed by 69 local partnerships and a strong founding coalition of trade unions and business associations, the initiative reached its goals and delivered measurable impact: 78% of participants improved their skills, 70% felt more motivated to embrace digital tools, and 59% felt better prepared for the job market.

The High Five Tour became a national symbol of digital inclusion, proving that with the right design and support, digital transformation can be for everyone.

Why is it a good practice?

The High Five Tour is considered as a good practice for the fact that it directly addresses one of Europe’s most urgent challenges: the digital divide and the need for practical skills to support competitiveness. By bringing expert-led training to 17 cities through a mobile classroom and a learning app, the initiative reached 25,000 citizens, many of whom were at risk of job loss due to low digital skills.

Its success lies in the combination of innovation, strong local partnerships, and measurable impact. With 78% of participants improving their skills and 59% feeling more job-ready, the initiative proved that digital transformation can be inclusive, local, and human-centered. The model is scalable and sustainable, with over 1.5 million media engagements amplifying its reach. As a pilot in Denmark, it now offers a blueprint for other European countries to follow, helping grow digital skills and strengthen Europe’s future competitiveness.
