University of Kent Conversion Master of Science in Computer Science (Cyber Security)
Cybercrime is a growing threat to society, democracy and organisations with an increasing amount of high profile cyber security cases in recent news. The University of Kent is offering a one-year conversion course intended to help respond to the demands of organisations needing to protect valuable data. Upon completing this course, graduates will have the key skills and knowledge in computer science and systems security to start a career in identifying and solving complex security problems.
The University of Kent is recognised by the British Government as being an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research giving students the opportunity to be taught by top researchers in this area. Additionally students will have an optional industrial placement between eight to 50 weeks (limited to a year for students on a student visa) which will help students gain hands-on real-world experience solving technical problems.

Entry requirements
As this is a conversion course, applicants must have a first of second class honours degree or equivalent in any subject. Additionally, applicants must have mathematical skills equivalent to a grade C or above in GCSE Mathematics. The University of Kent also requires all non-native speakers of English to reach a minimum standard of proficiency in written and spoken English before undertaking a postgraduate degree.
