The European e-competence framework offers a common language for professionals in the information and communication technology (ICT) field, recruiters and business entities. It allows employers to match ICT skills and competences to recruitment needs and make an accurate assessment of the needs for training and upskilling. Structured in three short video lessons, the resources walk users through the core elements of the European e-competence framework (e-CF), the main ways in which it is being used by businesses to facilitate recruitment, and the benefits of implementing the framework within operational processes in the context of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

With this approach, this resource aims to address an already identified gap within the European training landscape: the ability of SMEs to access and outreach to trained ICT professionals in order to reap the benefits of the digital transformation processes. In addition, SMEs can also find practical advice in a short and flexible form, to prepare their existing workforce better for the challenges brought about by digitalisation and emerging technologies, and equip workers with futureproof skills.
