HCAIM - AI Ethical Research in Practice

The HCAIM (Human-Centered AI Master) program includes a comprehensive module on ethical focus: research in practice, as part of Graduation (Module D). This module reflects the core principle of project-based learning (PBL) and positions the graduation project, or Master Thesis, centrally in the student’s learning trajectory. The goal is for students to independently solve industry challenges by addressing both technical and ethical aspects.
The lesson plan on Ethical Focus: Research in Practice combines interactive sessions, lectures, and tutorials. Key areas covered include ethics in research and qualitative methods in data gathering through interactive sessions. Lectures provide guidance on conducting literature reviews, critically reviewing sources, research design, and research proposal writing. Tutorials focus on developing a research portfolio, writing scientific research papers, and project management. Practical sessions are dedicated to presenting statistical data effectively.
This module is designed to equip students with the skills to carry out comprehensive and ethically sound research projects, ensuring they can meet industry needs and requirements. For more information, students can visit the HCAIM consortium’s homepage.
