Master in Autonomous Systems
The Autonomous Systems Programme is a two-year masters degree offered by the Master School of EIT Digital, at the very intersection of electronic engineering and computer science. The aim of the programme is to prepare participants for a career in sectors where autonomous systems are applied and equip them with expert knowledge of robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Details of the programme
The interdisciplinary programme provides students with up-to-date theoretical knowledge, combined with practical skills through work experience and aims to encourage reflection on the way technology can be applied to solve real-life problems. The programme builds skills and knowledge in fields like machine learning, robotic vision, automation, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT) and many others. The masters in autonomous systems is designed for students already in possession of a bachelors degree, or students currently enrolled in undergraduate study in subjects like Computer Science and Information Technology (IT). The programme is split in 2 years and takes place in two different universities in Europe, providing an opportunity for learners to expand their knowledge base and gain cultural awareness and soft skills.
The masters programme is structured in the form of face-to-face workshops and discussions, group activities, tasks and project work, and practical exercises, which aim to foster specific and more advanced digital skills. Students also have the opportunity to gain real-life experience through an internship in a company or industrial sector, which applies autonomous systems in practice.
