Master's in Cybersecurity Law - Universidad de León

The Master's in Cybersecurity Law (Máster Universitario en Derecho de la Ciberseguridad y Entorno Digital) is a one-year (60 ECTS) specialized program by the Universidad de León that shapes professionals who can navigate the complex realm of cybersecurity and the digital environment. This master's degree equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to tackle the emerging legal challenges stemming from advancements in communication and information technologies.

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of cybersecurity. Students will gain a deep understanding of the technical facets of cybersecurity, allowing them to effectively address the ever-evolving cyber threats. Additionally, they will learn to apply measures to protect fundamental freedoms and rights in the digital domain.

A multidisciplinary approach

Students will be trained to coordinate and plan the management of cyber risks in organizations and companies, taking into account legal, technical, and social perspectives. Practical experience is also a key component of this master's program. Students will have the opportunity to undertake curricular internships in prestigious institutions, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Admission and career paths

Admission to the program is open to individuals with a variety of academic backgrounds. A Bachelor's degree in Law, Industrial Relations, or similar disciplines, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related fields, are recommended. However, the program also considers applicants with other university degrees, subject to evaluation by the Academic Committee. 30 available positions are offered. 

The only prerequisite is to complete a prior training course (in September), which lasts for 30 hours (3 ECTS credits), in order to acquire the basic knowledge necessary to pursue the Master's degree that is not covered in the Bachelor's degree program used for admission.
